Ukraine says the Russians usually finish off wounded NK soldiers rather than let them get captured.
Ukraine has indeed captured two North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region, and they’re receiving medical assistance.
According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, this was a challenging operation, as Russian forces and North Korean military personnel typically execute their wounded to prevent evidence of North Korea’s involvement in the conflict.
The two soldiers were transported to Kyiv and are now communicating with the Security Service of Ukraine.
Zelenskyy has instructed the Security Service to allow journalists access to the prisoners, stating that “the world needs to know the truth about what is happening”.
It’s worth noting that Ukraine and Western assessments suggest around 11,000 North Korean troops were deployed in the Kursk region.
The Ukrainian military has also reported that North Korean soldiers fighting for Russia were given fake military documents with Russian names and birthplaces
