A woman has asked a Kano Shari’a Court sitting in Danbare, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State to separate her from her two-year marriage, allegedly consented to by her parents for worldly materials.
Maimuna Umar Gora approached the court after failed attempts in other courts to have the marriage dissolved with her husband, Sabo Shehu Kabara.
Gora said she is in love with her boyfriend, but her parents consummated the marriage with the man she doesn’t know, “because he owns a farm in our town where he has been visiting and sought the consent of my parents to marry me.”
Khadi Munzali Idris Gwadabe ordered that the estranged husband be served a summons and adjourned the case till June 12.
