French forward Désiré Doué has been crowned the 2025 Golden Boy following his trophy-laden season with Paris Saint-Germain.
The award dished out by Italian sports paper Tuttosport goes to the best player aged 21 or under in a European nation’s top flight.
The midfielder, currently sidelined with a thigh injury,was honored ahead of players like Dean Huijsen, Pau Cubarsí, Arda Güler, and Franco Mastantuono.
The Rennes academy product joined PSG in a €50m transfer last summer and quickly established himself as a key figure in Luis Enrique’s side.
Having finished 14th in the 2025 Ballon d’Or and runner-up for the Kopa Trophy, Doué’s rise to global prominence has been swift. Last year’s Golden Boy winner, Lamine Yamal, was ineligible to retain the prize under Tuttosport’s one-win rule, leaving the path clear for the French international (4 caps) to claim the award.
The Golden Boy shortlist is drawn from the Football Benchmark Index, a statistical ranking of the world’s top U21 players that updates throughout the season.
