Meta has finally launched a dedicated WhatsApp app for iPad, arriving more than a decade after the debut of both the messaging platform (2009) and Apple’s first iPad (2010). Now available on the App Store, the new app brings many of the same capabilities as the iPhone version — including support for audio and video calls with up to 32 participants, access to both front and rear cameras, and screen sharing during calls.
Optimized for iPadOS, the app integrates with features like Stage Manager, Split View, and Slide Over, allowing users to multitask more efficiently. Whether browsing the internet or watching a video, users can now keep WhatsApp open on one side of the screen, making full use of the iPad’s larger display without needing to constantly switch between apps.
