The governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, has thrown jabs at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over his recent comments on the affairs of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State.
Wike had on Monday, February 2, said he is particularly interested in the affairs of the PDP in Oyo state, a comment many as daring governor Makinde, who is the leader of the party in the state.
While speaking at a PDP National Executive Council meeting yesterday, Wike who is an arch rival of Governor Makinde, said above any other thing, he is interested in the PDP structure in Oyo state where Makinde is the leader.
Reacting to Wike’s remarks, the governor while speaking at the opening of a new PDP secretariat today, described them as misplaced, insisting that the Oyo chapter of the party remained stable, focused and united.
“In Yoruba land, we always say that if you see a house or compound that is peaceful, the vagabond in that house has not grown up. The vagabond in PDP, they grew up in 2015, they had their time and then 10 years , they practice their vagabond in the PDP but they have been expelled in November 2025, so no more vagabond in PDP.
Someone said he has interest in PDP in Oyo state. Ask him what has he done for the PDP in Rivers State that he comes from?” Governor Makinde said
