Singer Chike has shared advice he received from his mother about relationships and choosing a partner.
According to him during an interview with Flow 98.1fm, his mother repeatedly warned him not to settle with a woman who is not productive or working, regardless of how strong his feelings may be.
He explained that beyond love, it is important to be with someone who adds value and contributes meaningfully.
Chike also noted that his mother cautioned against being with someone who may appear to be doing something but is not truly productive, stressing that such situations can become a burden over time.
He added that family background also plays a role, explaining that being with someone who carries heavy financial responsibility for their family without stability can create added pressure in the relationship.
Speaking further, he said he now pays attention to factors beyond emotions, including a person’s lifestyle, responsibilities, and overall contribution.
