Film Director Jeff Baena Passes Away at 47

Tragedy has struck the film industry as writer and director Jeff Baena has passed away at the age of 47.

Baena, who was married to actress Aubrey Plaza, died by suicide at his Los Angeles-area home on Friday morning, January 3.

According to law enforcement sources, Baena’s body was discovered by an assistant around 10:30 a.m. local time.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that Baena’s death was a result of suicide.

Baena was a talented filmmaker with over a dozen directing and film credits to his name. Born and raised in Miami, he attended film school at New York University before moving to Los Angeles to pursue his career in entertainment.

Baena collaborated with his wife Aubrey Plaza on several projects, including the films “Life After Beth,” “The Little Hours,” and “Spin Me Round”.
