A Nigerian woman’s story about her marriage has gone viral on Facebook, sparking a heated discussion on toxicity in relationships and the importance of marrying a kind partner.
In a Facebook post on Monday, October 27, the mother of three, Ijeoma Ekechukwu, revealed that she is at the forefront of women who have cooked and served food to their husband’s girlfriends.
“If you’ve not boiled water in your kitchen for your “husband’s” girlfriend to bath with,” she wrote.“If you’ve not cooked and served your “husband’s” girlfriend“If your “husband” hasn’t scolded you in front of his girlfriend and she’s even calming him down for you.“Then this post isn’t for you. Addressing people who are skeptical and suggested the post was for engagement purposes, Ijeoma stressed that her marriage story is real and deserves to be made into a movie.
“Funny how you people think my story is a joke…or a movie script. It’s even funnier that you think I post this “joke” for engagement purposes. What you don’t know is…I haven’t even shared up to 25% of my story. You’ve not heard anything yet and you’re already reacting this way. C’mon…. My marriage story deserves to be acted as a movie on big screens it’s actually too “wowing” for social media. I’m sharing my story to reach out to women like me…my tribe. A lot of women are still going through this and far worse all because of society. I want them to see me, to hear me, to know that it’s okay to feel scared, but it’s better to CHOOSE YOURSELF,” she added.
