Pop star Justin Bieber has stirred reactions online after sharing his views on faithfulness during a Twitch livestream.
The 31-year-old singer told his friends that even thinking lustfully about another woman while in a relationship is already a form of adultery,Daily Mail reported.
“If you even think of a woman with lust, it’s the same thing as actually doing it,” Bieber said. “Committing adultery or whatever. It’s like the same thing — if it even crosses your mind for one second.”
Bieber — dressed in a pink hoodie and white T-shirt while eating In-N-Out Burger with friends — went on to compare lustful thoughts to anger, saying,
“If you treat a man with anger or something, it’s the same as killing a man.”
His comments quickly spread online, dividing opinions.
While some praised him for trying to live out his Christian faith, others accused him of being too extreme or even hypocritical, given some of his past lyrics.
Another joked: “Justin out here preaching Sunday school when half his songs sound like confessions from the cheating section.”
However, some agreed with his stance, saying his faith likely shaped his mindset. “Scripture makes life easier, not harder. He’s right — even thoughts can become idols,” one supporter commented.
Bieber, who’s been married to model Hailey Bieber for seven years, often talks about his faith and how it influences his marriage.
The couple tied the knot in 2018 in New York before hosting a grand ceremony in South Carolina the following year, attended by stars like Kendall Jenner, Jaden Smith, and Camila Morrone.
